Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of OliveTerm at oliveterm.com (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these terms.

The service

OliveTerm provides market information for the olive oil industry — prices, news, production and trade data, analysis tools — plus networking features such as a trade board, company directory, chat, and private messaging. The Service is currently offered free of charge during beta; we may introduce paid plans in the future with reasonable notice.

No investment or trading advice

Market data, prices, charts, spreads, and analysis shown on OliveTerm are for informational purposes only. They are aggregated from third-party sources (e.g. Poolred, ISMEA, ONH, press) and from user reports, may be delayed, incomplete, or inaccurate, and do not constitute investment, trading, legal, or tax advice. Always verify prices independently before entering into a transaction. We accept no liability for decisions made on the basis of data shown on the Service.

Marketplace conduct

• Trade board listings, buy/sell requests, and directory entries are posted by users. OliveTerm is not a party to any transaction, does not verify goods, and does not handle payment or escrow. Due diligence on counterparties is your responsibility.
• “Verified” badges indicate that an administrator reviewed the information a user submitted; they are not a guarantee of creditworthiness or conduct.
• You must not post unlawful, misleading, or fraudulent listings or content.

Your account

• You must provide accurate information and keep your credentials secure.
• Accounts are for business/professional use by people aged 18 or over.
• We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, abuse other users, scrape the Service, or attempt to disrupt it.

Content you post

You retain ownership of content you submit. You grant us a non-exclusive licence to host and display it as needed to operate the Service (e.g. showing your listing to other users, including anonymized price reports in aggregate data). You are responsible for having the rights to what you post.

Acceptable use

You may not: resell or redistribute OliveTerm data feeds without permission; use automated scraping beyond reasonable personal use; attempt to access other users’ data; or use the Service to send spam or harass others.

Availability and changes

The Service is provided “as is” without warranties. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features — especially during beta. We aim for high availability but do not guarantee it.

Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, OliveTerm’s total liability arising out of the use of the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (during the free beta, this is zero). Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Portugal, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence. Disputes will be resolved by the competent courts of Portugal.
